Japanese Kitsune Fox Mask | Handmade Papier-Mâché Washi Paper
N/A
An authentic handmade kitsune (fox) mask crafted from torn washi paper papier-mâché. A traditional Japanese folk craft rooted in Shinto symbolism. In Japanese folklore, the kitsune is a revered spirit animal. This mask features the classic hand-painted design: gold-leaf eyes rimmed in blue, a red mouth and ear interiors, whisker dots, and delicate brushed fur linework. It was made by Nozawa Mingei, a folk craft workshop operating since 1962 in Nishiaizu Town, Fukushima Prefecture, Japan; each mask is individually handmade, so no two are exactly alike. Pre-owned, mostly excellent condition overall; vibrant paint, no major damage. Please review photos closely as they're part of the listing description; light general wear consistent with gentle handling. About 9x5”
