Vintage Tejidos Rumiñahui Wool Dreamcatcher Hooded Sweater Jacket

Excellent condition hand-knitted 1990s vintage full-zip hooded sweater jacket by Tejidos Rumiñahui, hand-crafted in Otavalo, Ecuador. This piece features a striking orange/rust knit body detailed with an intricate intarsia dreamcatcher, wolf head, and hanging feathers on both the front and back. There is no sizing label. Tagged as a large because that seems closest. Please see approximate measurements in pictures.   Otavalo is the Textile Capital of South America and home to Plaza de los Ponchos—the largest and most famous open-air artisan market in South America.   While many items in the Otavalo market are sold anonymously by independent weavers, Tejidos Rumiñahui was established as a formal multi-generational family workshop and founded over 50 years ago by a husband-and-wife artisan duo (Don César and Doña María), the label became famous in the 1980s and 1990s for producing high-quality, incredibly thick wool zip-ups and cardigans.
