Antique Wächtersbach German Jugendstil Ceramic Bread Box Wood Frame DRGM 772381
D.R.G.M.
399.00 $
Description
A genuinely uncommon find: a D.R.G.M. marked antique bread box with a porcelain body, wood frame, and hinged lid with a glass window. Porcelain has a navy stripe pattern. Brass handle and decorative corner screws throughout. Gently used with minor wear. Surface scuffs on the wood, some discoloration in the wood, and patina on the brass hardware. D.R.G.M. stands for Deutsches Reichs-Gebrauchs-Muster, a German utility patent designation used from the late 1800s through the early 1900s. That mark alone puts this in a narrow window of production. See photos for condition. Hairline crack on bottom And some staining. Great condition for age.
