Vintage Mexican Pottery Bird Tonala Style Hand Painted Floral Folk Art Mexico
N/A
Beautiful vintage Mexican pottery bird featuring an elongated tail, upright form, and colorful hand-painted floral and feather-inspired decoration. The bird has a muted gray-blue glazed body decorated in earthy shades of green, ochre yellow, burgundy, brown and black. Fine painted outlines and stylized floral motifs give the piece the distinctive appearance associated with Tonalá-style Mexican folk pottery. The lower side is hand marked “MEXICO.” No individual artist signature has been identified, so this piece is described as Tonalá style rather than attributed to a particular artist or pottery. A wonderful decorative piece for collectors of Mexican pottery, Tonalá-style ceramics, folk art, Southwestern decor, vintage pottery or bird figurines. Measures: 4.25 inches high, 5.5 inches long and 2.75 inches wide. Please see photos for condition issues, I try to list anything I see here as well and feel free to send me a message with any questions. Some shelf wear on the bottom of the bird. Age-appropriate wear and natural variations in the glaze and hand-painted decoration. Thank you for visiting, feel free to make offers or bundle items. Any questions please send me a message and I will answer promptly.
