Royal Copenhagen Brown Iris 9231 Porcelain Creamer Sugar Tray Denmark Vintage

Vintage Royal Copenhagen porcelain tray in the Brown Iris pattern, form no. 9231. A beautifully restrained piece of mid-century Danish porcelain, this 1962 Royal Copenhagen tray pairs the warm Brown Iris botanical decoration with an elegant sculpted form and hand-applied gilt edging.  Designed as the coordinating tray for a creamer and sugar set, this elegant Danish porcelain piece features a central brown and rust iris motif accented with gold and gray foliage, smaller gilt botanical decorations at the corners, and a gold-trimmed sculpted edge.  Its graceful form also makes it particularly attractive used independently as a vanity tray, jewelry catchall or small decorative dish.  Marked Royal Copenhagen Denmark on underside. Markings include 711 / 9231.  Measures approximately 8.75 L x 6.5 W x 1.125 H.  Excellent vintage condition overall with minor wear consistent with age, including a small blemish along the gilt edge/corner as photographed. Residue/discoloration from a former label remains on the underside.
