Set of 2 vintage official 1978 Kentucky Derby mint julep glasses commemorating the 104th running at Churchill Downs. Made by Libbey and featuring colorful First Clubhouse artwork, roses, racing scenes and a chronological list of Derby winners with Triple Crown champions marked. The list ends with Seattle Slew in 1977 and “1978 ?” because the glasses were produced before the race. 1978 became a historic Derby year when Affirmed, ridden by Steve Cauthen, won the Kentucky Derby on his way to the Triple Crown. Pre-owned vintage condition with no chips or cracks noted. There is age-related wear to portions of the printed decoration, along with a few small surface/paint marks and light cosmetic wear.
