Vintage "Pin-It" Skirt Marker Seamstress
pin it
This is a vintage Pin-It skirt marker, a sewing tool used for accurately marking garment hems. It is made of wood and metal and is adjustable to mark different hem lengths from the floor. The device holds the fabric between a wooden stick and a metal part, allowing a pin to be inserted through guide holes at the desired height. The markings visible on the ruler are in inches. These tools were made by Orco Products, Inc. in Dayton, Ohio, with some models dating back to the 1950s.
