Vintage Silverplate Japan Condiment Spoon & Small Notched Lid Serving Pieces
Unknown
Two assorted small vintage-style silver-tone serving pieces offered together as found. These pieces were acquired together with other items, and it is unknown whether the spoon and lid originally belonged together. No bowl, jar, or other serving pieces are included. Spoon is 4.5 x 1 at widest. Lid is 3 1/8 across x 1 5/8 high. The small serving/condiment spoon is marked “Silverplate Japan.” The domed lid has a round ball finial and a small notch along the edge, likely designed to accommodate a spoon or serving utensil. The lid has no maker or material markings, so its exact metal composition is unknown. It may be silver-plate, but this has not been verified. Both pieces were tarnished when acquired and have been polished. Good pre-owned condition, with no damage found. Both pieces had tarnish when acquired and have been polished. They may show age/use wear including marks, light scratches or remaining tarnish. The lid has a tiny black dot near the finial handle. Because the surfaces are highly reflective, some dark lines, shapes and apparent marks visible in the photographs are reflections from the photography setup rather than actual damage.
