This is a large transmitting tube, model P250A, manufactured by JRC (Japan Radio Company), found during a clean-out of my family home.
My late father was involved in telecommunications-related work as a subcontractor for the former NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Public Corporation). I believe he acquired and kept this item through his work.
