The length and width that fit in a shakuhachi bag vary depending on the individual piece.

Length: Approx. 73cm
(Length when not folded)
Width: Approx. 10cm
While I cannot guarantee it, this bag likely has ample room for a diameter of 5cm and can accommodate lengths up to 55cm.

Many shakuhachi are approximately 54cm in length and 5cm in diameter, but I am unsure.
I do not own a shakuhachi, so I cannot answer questions about whether it will fit.

Depending on the diameter of the shakuhachi, the top and bottom fabric will be gathered.
Even if the overall length of the piece is long, if it has a significant diameter, the gathered fabric at the top and bottom will reduce the internal space, making it difficult to fit many items.
For an idea of the diameter, I have included a photo with an unopened 5.2cm mini juice can for reference.

Type B shakuhachi bags with shoulder straps will not be produced as they cause issues when worn.
